Aalborg in a morning stroll

Five hours was all I had to explore Aalborg, Denmark's fourth largest city (143,000 inhabitants).  The city served as a stopover on my way to Hirtshals to catch the ferry to the Faroe Islands.  The city is a wonderful mix of design, modernity, history and cosiness. Colourful old houses meet modern architecture meet grafitti and art. It  deserves to show you some photos in this post. Hopefully I'll find time to explore the city again soon!  One of the nicest sights is the old town of Aalborg called Hjelmerstald, an old Danish expression for horse stable. These alleys were built for hoirse stables in the 17th century, today it is a lively residential neighborhood with colorful houses, flowers and benches to sit down and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.     During a stroll you should not miss to walk along the waterside until you reach the Fjordbyen area. Train riding in Albania and other adventures - our Albania trip

What a challenge to write down our recent trip to Albania - I am not sure if I can really share with you all the things I have in my mind and that I want to tell you in the way they deserve it. This trip was probably one of the most challenging my boyfriend and I have ever done - but also one of those that we will never forget and tell about over and over again.  Albania is a country well worth to visit. One of the few destinations in Europe that is still not overrun by tourism. Where you still have to improvise a bit and where you are not sure if everything is gonna work the way you planned it. I t's not always beautiful there. Sometimes even quite ugly. Big trash problem, stray dogs and dangerous traffic.  Where you fear you are going to die while riding a train.  A country that is still developing, whereold meets new.
